“A split into two selves in the attempt to become what someone else desires—while knowing it can never last.”

This work remains untitled because some experiences resist being named.

It emerged from the inner division created by desire: one version of the artist exists solely in relation to the longing for another person, while the other exists independently. In an attempt to satisfy that desire, he had to divide himself, becoming the person he believed the object of his longing wanted him to be, while gradually losing his own sense of coherence.

The awareness that this transformation was always temporary was present from the very beginning. Even so, he chose to go through with it.
