“Night Out” is part of a series inspired by film noir.

The work depicts an seemingly ordinary encounter in a bar, featuring a man whose face is hidden in shadow and a blonde woman. The triangular composition guides the viewer’s gaze toward his hand, which grips her waist in a threatening manner.

The piece plays with the idea of capturing the viewer’s attention and directing the spotlight through the use of strong contrasts and negative space.
