These works belong to the same series but are executed on a larger scale, exploring motifs drawn from ancient architecture. The subject itself is not the primary focus; Fran does not approach these architectural forms through the lens of historicism or literal representation. Instead, he constructs her own atmosphere, interpreting architectural motifs through a deeply personal visual language.

Here, architecture becomes a metaphor for growth and transformation within the medium of painting itself—a space for introspection and the continual re-examination of personal artistic inclinations. The conceptual point of departure for the series was Jorge Luis Borges’ short story The Circular Ruins (Ruinas circulares), in which a stranger dreams of awakening within a circular amphitheatre that is, in fact, the remains of a burned temple.

This literary reference contributes to the work's transcendental and mystical atmosphere, expressed through landscapes devoid of human presence. In these imagined spaces, architecture transcends its physical form, becoming a vessel for memory, contemplation, and transformation.
