STORY BEHIND THE ARTWORK
“Time Consumes Me” explores a series of everyday excuses that we all encounter from time to time — moments when we simply do not feel like doing something, when we genuinely run out of time, or when something so unexpected happens that even we cannot fully explain it.
In the context of today’s fast-paced lifestyle, where time is constantly scattered between obligations, expectations, and the pressure of being always available, the boundary between a real lack of time and an inner resistance becomes increasingly blurred. In this rhythm, excuses are no longer just justifications, but also reflections of exhaustion, overwhelm, and the need to pause.
Recently, the artist has found herself caught in a whirlwind of such situations, somewhere between justified and unjustified excuses. These moments are often accompanied by feelings of guilt, anxiety, and inner restlessness. Gradually, these emotions intertwine, forming a dense web of “empty stories” that occupy the mind and create a kind of emotional storm.
Through working on this series, as well as reflecting on the subject itself, the artist has gained a deeper understanding of her own reactions, learned to view situations from a different perspective, and ultimately found a way to accept and justify them.
This print is part of the “Time Consumes Me” graphic series.
