Polyurethane foam and acrylic
Inspired by the sight of children playing on the streets of Paris, Mia, from the painting “Catch That Ball!”, previously exhibited at MSU, develops this sculptural object made of polyurethane foam. The red ball as the central motif symbolizes movement, play, and life energy – simple moments that carry universal emotion and meaning.
The sculpture's technique reflects the artist's intuitive approach: the foam is freely modeled and then painted with acrylic, making the object a bridge between painting and three-dimensional form. The atmosphere of the work is bright and moving – the sculpture seems to capture a frozen moment before the action.
This work is part of a larger series of foam sculptures, but carries a clear narrative and functional independence. Its title further emphasizes the kinetics and emotional presence – inviting the observer to “capture” the moment of play and freedom for themselves.
