This painting is part of a series of landscapes created during the summer, inspired by the everyday view from the studio on the island of Rab. The view of the old town, the islets and the open horizon towards Cres and Pag is transformed into an abstract representation that symbolizes freedom, peace and contemplation. The work was started on the island and completed in the studio in Zagreb, which gives it an additional personal dimension. Oil on board was used for the expressive texture and depth of layers, characteristic of this series. Mia wants the viewer to feel the freshness of the view and immerse themselves in its shimmering atmosphere, experiencing the landscape through their own sensory prism.
