The work visualizes the inner state of withdrawal into one's own space – real and symbolic isolation. The blue lines that run through the composition form a rhythm resembling the bars of a cage, suggesting structure and limitation, while in the background the landscape discreetly peeks out – as a subtle presence of the outside world and a contrast to the confinement. "The Cage" is a spatial and emotional map of withdrawal, but also a silent aspiration for an exit.
