Starting from a personal photograph of children on the beach, Mia explores the emotional depths of the relationship between brother and sister – a relationship that is tender yet strong, almost invisible yet ever-present. Combining oil and polyurethane foam, the artist creates a rich texture and composition that emphasizes symbolism – the glove and the paddle as signs of togetherness and mutual care.

The work conveys an atmosphere of silence and introspection, evoking memories and feelings that do not fade. This painting is part of the series Holes in Memory , in which Mia explores how gaps – both literal and metaphorical – preserve traces of memory, intimacy, and transience.
