Everything worth seeing in contemporary art at NESVARSTANI – in one place, in three playful days
LAUBA – a house for people and art, will once again become the focal point of contemporary art in the region at the end of June. From June 27 to 29 , the eighth edition of NESVARSTANIH will take place, a unique cultural event that brings together renowned artists, galleries and collectors , as well as all those who want to enter the world of art; whether as observers, buyers or lovers of a good atmosphere.
This year's edition brings together 16 galleries, more than 100 artists and over 300 works from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy... NESVRSTANI fosters a culture of investment in art and encourages the exchange of ideas between authors, audiences and collectors through a great atmosphere and direct support of the art scene.

The eighth edition brings together the best of the domestic and regional offer. Some of the most important galleries such as Galerija Trotoar , Apoteka Vodnjan , Galerija Poola and Flora, and Galerija Kranjčar participate in the carefully selected program. The international character of the fair is indicated by prominent galleries from Slovenia and Serbia – Kibla , Y Gallery and ŠumArt . Through their exhibitions, the audience will be able to see and buy works by artists from Croatia, the region, but also from France, Italy, Germany, Ukraine and other countries. Unaligned thus remains an unquestionable reference for contemporary creativity in the region and a showcase for global trends.
As part of the fair, the audience will discover the works of the Gorgona Group, EXAT 51, New Tendencies and New Images , movements that laid the foundations of contemporary expression, but continue to shape the art scene. It will be an opportunity to encounter the works of Julije Knifer , Ivan Kožarić , Đuro Seder , Ivan Picelj , Aleksandar Srnec, whose achievements are indispensable in any serious collection.
Among contemporary authors, Kristian Kožul, Ivana Franke, Martina Grlić, Bojan Šumonja, Marko Tadić, Duje Jurić, Alem Korkut and others bring new horizons in medium, form and concept, while Edita Schubert continues to lead the discourse with her strong and recognizable expression.
In addition to established names, the attention of the public and experts is increasingly drawn to the authors of the newer generation. Thus, NESGRASTANI presents works by Mario Miličić, Gorana Težak, Monika Meglić, Nikola Grabovac, Ivan Buvinić , as well as Luisa Pascu, Bartol Galović and Vida Meić, and many others. Through spatially oriented installations, experimentation with media and a strong authorial expression, they bring a fresh perspective and new approaches.
Their presence confirms that contemporary artistic production certainly has its future and that it is already creating, exploring and communicating with the times to come .

Art as an investment
Investing in art is no longer reserved for the elite – more and more individuals are recognizing the works of contemporary artists as a stable and long-term investment. According to the Art Basel & UBS 2024 report, it is works in price categories under $20,000 that show the most resilient growth and stability in the market – especially when it comes to artists with an already established career and recognizable signature.
In this context, NESVRSTANI profiles itself as a unique sales platform in the region. They enable the direct purchase of works, without auctions and intermediaries, in an atmosphere that suits both curious and more experienced collectors alike. Everything is transparent, accessible and clear, and the prices vary from a few hundred euros to more serious amounts, depending on the artist and the work.
The offer includes established authors with historical significance, as well as new names that are just entering collector circles. Many of the works exhibited at Lauba have already ended up in private collections, as long-term investments with aesthetic and financial value.

AI and art
With a strong emphasis on art and the market, this year's program of UNALIGNED also opens up current questions about the role of technology in contemporary creativity. In cooperation with the CroAI association, a conversation is started about artificial intelligence in art - who signs AI work and can an algorithm be the author? The impetus for this topic is the increasing number of AI-generated works that achieve significant prices at international auctions, such as "Portrait of Edmond de Belamy" by the French collective Obvious, which sold for $432,500, or the work of the artist Refik Anadol, which fetched $277,200 at the recent "Augmented Intelligence" auction at Christie's. The discussion is open to the public.

An atmosphere that doesn't end when you leave the exhibition space
In addition to the exhibition part, NESVRSTANI brings a recognizable atmosphere that has shaped the cultural scene of Zagreb for years. The day begins at 11:00, with an open terrace, bar, music and light daytime socializing , and continues with an evening program - DJ sets, concerts, and evenings with cocktails and wine .
Friday opens with the popular Summer Cinema , Saturday features musical guest One Cure , while Sunday is reserved for a quieter finale and the completion of acquisitions. If you've ever thought about buying art – this is the best place to start.
Three days of playfulness. See you later.
