“Exploring the artist's techniques, concepts, visual language and philosophy, this exhibition offers a selection of works relevant to local artists and art enthusiasts alike. It includes works that refer to key moments in the history of painting ( Van Minnen, Birns ), works influenced by technology or contemporary aesthetics ( Hoffmann, Brawner ), painting approaches that emphasize surfaces and textures ( Cross, Lai, Ericsson, Ruiz , Santy ), visuals that push reality to the edge of surrealism, and even beyond it ( Scholl, Schuldt ), or works in which the rules of the material world and common sense become irrelevant ( Proux, Lundy ). Putting before future generations of artists the works of established colleagues from different parts of the world, That's what's up! wants to create a new link between local and global artistic activity."
