Dobrodošli u novo poglavlje platforme ARTBEAT

Welcome to the new chapter of the ARTBEAT platform

In a world where we increasingly ask ourselves where art is in everyday life, ArtBeat offers a clear and concrete answer: art is here, among us – we just need to know how to recognize it and let it in.

After a year of operation as a digital platform dedicated to following and understanding contemporary art through an exhibition calendar and editorial , ArtBeat is now moving into a new chapter. The first exhibition will be held on June 5th at Oris - the House of Architecture , thus ArtBeat enters a new chapter - the promotion, exhibition and sale of works by young artists . This exhibition represents not only the physical presentation of the ArtBeat platform, but also the launch of a webshop - a digital space where the audience will be able to purchase selected works by the exhibition participants and thus directly support their work.

As curator Anita Ruso Brečić points out in her foreword : "...art initiatives such as ArtBeat, whose mission is to promote and develop the contemporary art scene through meetings between artists, collectors and art lovers, are valuable and necessary efforts to position and integrate art on the domestic art scene."

ArtBeat was created with the idea of being a connecting tissue between artists and the public , not only through exhibitions, but also by enabling the purchase of art. In this context, the curator emphasizes: “The ultimate goal of ArtBeat is to enable collectors and other art lovers to acquire art – and to do so in a simple, transparent and accessible way.”

The exhibition will feature seven artists : Mia Markušić, Carolina Barbarić, Fran Ferković, Jessica Gobert, Zvonimir Haramija Hans, Dante Luka Žanetić and Matej Vuković. Their works open up different narrative, media and aesthetic approaches to contemporary art – from expressive painting and illustration to abstract sculpture and visual poetry.

"ArtBeat is not just a platform that connects. It is, above all, an initiative that wants to build a community in which art is seen as the center, or rather the heart of that community," Ruso Brečić points out. This community includes everyone: from artists and curators, to collectors, media and random passers-by - because they are all potential interlocutors of art.

In this spirit, ArtBeat continues to maintain its media component – the exhibition calendar remains a central place to follow the cultural scene, and the editorial continues to publish interviews, reviews and recommendations. But now, the platform goes a step further: it creates opportunities for young artists and brings them directly to the audience .

The curator concludes:
"We can imagine art as something that beats over and over again, like a pump in the middle of the human body or something that knocks on our door waiting for us to open it."

We look forward to your arrival.

Admission is free.
