"Exploring the techniques, concepts, visual language, and philosophy of artists, this exhibition offers a selection of works equally relevant to local artists and art enthusiasts. It encompasses works that refer to key moments in the history of painting (Van Minnen, Birns), works influenced by technology or contemporary aesthetics (Hofmann, Brawner), painting approaches that emphasize surfaces and textures (Cross, Lai, Ericsson, Ruiz, Santy), visuals that push reality to the edge of surrealism, and even beyond (Scholl, Schuldt), or works where the rules of the material world and common sense become irrelevant (Proux, Lundy). By presenting future generations of artists with works by established colleagues from different parts of the world, That's what's up! aims to create a new connection between local and global artistic activity.”
